OK this one is a bit of a cheat. Its this weeks in my mug, but its still a new coffee. It also means you get a video (another cop out) but it has been very very tough to keep this pace up. I’ll be glad once the last one is done.
Its a special cup and I hope you get a chance to try it.
Another of our direct trade coffees, this time located in the North Yungas region of Bolivia in the colony of...

Some of the best coffee I've had in Europe!! Such a cool chilled out little cafe adjacent to a print shop (hence the name) selling a bunch of local artsy stuff. I had a Colombian through an Aeropress which was fantastic, and my long black was brilliant too. The staff are friendly, the cafe is bursting with atmosphere, prices are reasonable and most importantly the...

Excellent coffee - quite a surprise to find it in a town with a population of only 1000! I moved to the area and buy a coffee at Lee-Ona's before work every day.

This place has all the right gear, products, atmosphere, staff with sufficient angular hair, red indie lipstick, guys with beards and plaid shirts. Front line customer service needs work, but barista was very nice. My largest concern was my 25 second brew Aeropress. Not great.

Organic, fair trade, shade grown AND delicious? Now we're talking! Nice industrial/warehouse/loading bay kind of thing going on with a cozy and quirky feel. Six of us went to this branch of Jack's on a chilly NYC morning and were fortified by the smooth, rich cappuccinos with thick, lasting foam and delicious mocha/chocolate biscotti (not the usual...

This place has grown on me... The coffee keeps getting better or I am getting used to it. The design is excellent, and a NSW champion latte artist behind the counter can't hurt! The well-to-do yummy mummies seem to agree - try getting a coffee around 1000 on a week day!

Day 5 and another huge coffee. We have seen Lagoa in the past, but not the icatu varietal from there. For more on this take a look here
Great to see the brazils rolling in again
This micro lot came as a really nice surprise and out of the blue. I got sent the sample blind and got really excited about it. You will see Lagoa at other roasters, but not this tiny micro lot.

I’ve been spending quite few hours testing and evaluating various burrs and baskets recently and I have come to realise that a purpose built, highly stable shot brewer would be a useful tool. It may be my metrology background but I am always looking for ways to remove uncertainties and subjectivity from my test procedures so a Precision Shot Brewer is now top of my wish list.
